The process of unloading and good receiving in the Warehouse

Understanding Acceptance Goods are "physical Receives goods from the factory, the principal or the distributor, adjusted for document ordering and delivery and in accordance with the requirements of condition handling of the goods"

Inside the reception activities of this item there are 3 important points that can not be separated from one another:
1. Physical goods received
2. Documentation
3. How the handling of product

The following is a brief explanation of the process :


1. Physical Goods Received
Is the physical form of goods that must be felt, touched or seen directly. Receipts that are not physical goods can lead to differences in processes and outcomes to be achieved. In general, the result is negative. If there is acceptance without having to physically handle the goods, there should be an additional process to ensure the legitimacy of the process. 
• The principle of acceptance of goods is received directly PHYSICAL GOODS. Not only documents only.
• Physically, the goods can be seen, touched or felt and can be compared with document delivery.
• random checks or the overall condition of the package contents
• Expiration Date goods, batch number
• The quantity of goods VS document

 2. Documentation
Document ordering; goods received under the documents that underlie how the goods should be accepted, what type of goods and to ensure that the goods received is equal to the goods delivered.
• The document is a companion physical goods that can be read and matched with the goods shipped.
• Documents required minimum shipping documents DN (Delivery Note), DO (Delivery Order), Packing List or Mail Road).
• It would be better if the document Order (PO : Purchase Order) is also attached. 

3. How Goods Handling
Handling requirements; special conditions that must be prepared when the goods they will be accepted. Does need to be addressed at a temperature / temperature needs to be special or special handling due to weight factors, the degree of difficulty or other problems.
 • Handle the goods in accordance with life cycle
     - Temperature
     - Expire
     - Maximum stack 
• Use appropriate equipment
     - Pallet
     - Drum
     - Forklift
• Understand the safety rules
     - Chemical
     - Poison
     - explode

In general it can be stated that the receipt of goods is a warehouse operational activity that is very important because it is the beginning of the handling of goods.
Common logic says that the reception is good stuff still allow the occurrence of damage / incorrect goods in warehouses, especially if at the time of receipt of goods handled in a way that is not true, guaranteed damage / mistakes are inevitable.
 
Stages of Acceptance of Goods: 
1. Put Away in warehouses.
2. Parking and queuing.
3. Loading and unloading at the loading dock.
4. Preparation of goods during the process of unloading.
5. Checking items vs. documents.
6. Entering data into the system (GRN).
7. The legitimacy of the document.
8. Exit the warehouse.
