In supply chain management, data which are independent of each chain will lead to high costs,  making it flexible,  and consequently profits  will be threatened. How to change it, the following treatise writings  of F. John Reh, About.com.

Data Integration.
When the company started to rise, not much data is needed. Almost all of the data stored in the head of a company owners, suppliers or customers get the data with a long talk.
Then the company grew, then start the data is made in several places by several people, such as production data, financial data and marketing data. And talked at length was already unable to make the data collected quickly, resulting in the company's financial processes so slow, marketing is so decreased, and the monthly production so months. Finally, there grew a need to summarize data such data periodically, weekly or daily. And now, the business world already requires more than periodic summary, today's business world requires that data bound to each other all the time, connected to each other all the time, and accurate data at any time. Real Time Visibility has been started.
The key to success and the company's current corporate profits and the future is how fast the data is integrated and how accurate the data. And it is through the mastery of information technology.

The step  of data integration.
To organize this data sounds easy, but very big challenge. In addition to mastery of information technology, it takes a strong vision, iron will, patience monks, and maturity to achieve it. However following the steps toward an integrated data:
1. Determine what data the data that needs to be integrated [eg, financial,  purchasing, production,  and customer service].
2, Appoints who collect and process data such data.
3. Determine who owns the results of data integration, as responsible for quality.
4. Discussions with the owner of the data about what is desired from the data integration, not just what can be obtained.
5. Determine the language standard, and the place where the data will be processed, treated and stored.
6. Hold a procurement process based on the results of the above specifications.
7. Continue to unite the perception that the data that later is the integration of enterprise data is no longer the data of each section.
8. Activate the new data integration system and immediately turn off the old system.
9. Time to observe and evaluate whether improved financial status.

With the integration of these data we will reduce the cost of production costs, increase productivity, and profits will be controlled.
